One of the worst times in my life occurred two years and two months ago. I became aware that I was experiencing emotional abuse when I found myself in the devaluation phase of a relationship with a narcissist.  If you're not familiar with the word "devaluation," it refers to the phase of a relationship when a narcissist starts acting abusively and taking advantage of you without warning.
